This year I've been busy!

In November I ruled Canada as a kind and benevolent dictator (700 points). Last Tuesday I put gum in cowlicksffxi's hair (-12 points). Last week on a flight to Pakistan, I stole the emergency flight information card (-40 points). Last Monday dekker_ffxi and I robbed a bank (-50 points). In January I put money in rdm_aph's expired parking meter (14 points).

Overall, I've been nice (612 points). For Christmas I deserve a pony!

Got rdm to 47. Really want to hit 50 this weekend so I can chip away at AFs while I merit more.

Got to see Absolute Virtue. Got to experience meteor spam.

Got to really dominate duo limbus (sucks the chests aren't mob specific). Our smoothest run by far ~ but feel we got jacked on coin drops. We hit 10 on our first run without TH, 8 on our bad run and 10 again on this one, with TH. Think I'll go back to /war on our next run, should be able to get another 1 or 2 mobs in with the extra damage.

Got fraps registered. Working on a music video.

We tried 4 runs. Our first attempt ever clocked at around 16 minutes. 2nd 7. 3rd was our best (didn't even have time to summon), and 4th our worst (about 10 minutes but sloppy - smns began to overlap a bit). Bummed fraps crashed midfight, but then with the massive spammage that was going on, I'm not that surprised. I never thought it could happen, but Kirins will get boring for some jobs real soon.

Haven't had too much time to persue personal things (unless you count my camping Ulli religeously an effort to get my haidate ~ which I suppose it is) but did manage to get rank 5 and merit some. Last night's duo limbus run had us taken by surprise. A dissapointment if only because were better then how we played, but definately not a failure ~ pocketed 8 coins in the end. I think we'll own it next time.

Brigidine is useless, but I love how it looks. I figured I'd try to rush level rdm to 50 this week, but my attention has been distracted by massive amounts of meriting.

I think i've gotten 7 or 8 merits over the past three days, split nicely between WS pts on nin and duoing on blm (thanks for the invites Gudan). I'm going to slow down on rdm as i cap MP and ele/enfeeb - i'd like to have them capped by the time I hit 60, which still leaves plenty of time to fool around with both intrests.

AD did KS99 runs - much fun. First few were done kiting, but eventually we gave straight tanking a shot and fell in love with it. So much quicker.

And I only died twice - running with my tail between my legs for the last few runs. Drops were a little disappointing, which worries me since I've got an orb ready and could really use it to help out. Got another 170 BS lying around for a rainy day I hope comes soon too.

Was able to join a pickup pt for 2-3 before we started KS99. Kalani and myself plus a war and blm going through it for themselves. We didn't have gear, of course, but we didn't have any trouble. Made the CS interesting at least.

Went through rank 3 quick, just need to revisit the magicite mission to get back to rank 5. 5-1 will be a pain to organize (in the middle of no where and capped -.-) but I'm looking forward to trying out 5-2. Vimes wants to take a shot soloing it on rdm, i'd be more then happy to give him the opportunity.

We finally were able to give duoing limbus a shot tonight and it worked out magnificently. First floor was a little tricky (the slimes can be annoying at times and the boss is very quick - but also very weak.) The crabs on the second floor are an absolute joke to tank.

I didn't anticipate getting as far as we did, at least not on our first attempt at it. nin/war + rdm/whm we ended with 10 coins. Think i'll try nin/thf next time to compare - tho I wonder if the lack of double attack will counterbalance treasure hunter. Hate was never an issue, but we'd like to get through the first floor faster - seeing how much easier the crabs are.

Thought I had an awesome picture of AD's fight against Nidd tonight, but it didn't seem to get through. AD's 2nd A Body in the past month - much celebration and a very exciting fight. (Even participated in a midfight wardrobe exchange - good job Wir!).

I finally caved. Part of me feels like I'm going to give up on it, but once that thing hatches maternal instincts are gunna kick in, i just know it. Oryx if it's a girl, Crake if it's a guy.

Keep your fingers crossed for an AF drop for me tomorrow in Sandy. A new pair of shorts would really make my week.

1 MB party on pudding plus some trioing on bugs and dragons. 36k on the night, but no merits.
I'm really torn on what to level up first, and I'm meaning on meriting much more often now. On the bright side I've got three jobs that can fit into any efficent merit party setup.

Rdm af1 half-done... the easy half. Something tells me I'll be pulling my hair out tomorrow morning.

After a slow first few days, the last two have helped encourage me to log in.

Had a great party on rdm, going from 37-42 in about 5 or 6 hours. Glad the real tough part is over with; and I'm loving refresh and convert.

I've been shying away from the few events I've been around for since I logged in, partly due to needing to find some fun before I committed to working, but I made it down to dynamis tonight. AFs were dropping like mad, including the blm stuff I committed myself to. Couldn't bring myself to lot tho, some of the people who requested it are 1st job blms, and i've been gone for months. When the 2nd dropped I got a tell from J wondering why I wasn't lotting. I didn't really expect it from him (to notice or encourage me to claim what I wanted). It boosted my spirits about still being a part of this place. Passed on it regardless. But finally took a shot at the 3rd drop and lost.

But I got the 4th - grateful I was the only one lotting for it. Glad it worked out that way.

The tanking chain madness's of trolls that came after, in the company of amazing players and friends, really helped make my night.

After a few hectic days the wait was finally over. Rhain couldn't make the party (stupid Canada!) but was surprised to see chibi back around and we had a replacement blm taru fill in. A long crazy night and even though I got absolutely nothing completed (but lots started) it was the most fun I've had in this game in a long time.

The cut will kill slow computers...

The boat ride was so packed and so lagged out that it actually seemed kinda empty. I completely forgot about fraps in my excitement so I missed a bunch of snap shots of the crazy fish people were catching (Vimes caught tuna, cause he's boring) or the whales ~ yes, whales ~ that swim beside the trip for a while. Some nice scenery, but not as pretty as the barge from Bibiki Bay. But this expansion was never about ferry rides anyway...

The music in the capital rocks and the zones are huge. WiW split up to go explore and examine and people got soooo much done. I think just about everyone on the server /telled Xano at one point in the night and Big figured out a few missions and quests on his own and even got his mog locker. Spent a good ninty minutes running around in here over the course of the night and didn't nearly see everything I wanted to or talk to 1/3 of the people.

A new race who's bad guy brothers actually have terrorize (which was fun to find out), they talk like jar-jar, but are kinda cute. This guy is involved with the chocobo raceway, which was closed or unavailable when we ran into him.

Puppetmasters are making brd's run for thier money as far as entertainment value. Just about anything PUP needs for thier dolls comes from Alchemy, so I'll definately need to look into the monetary possibilities of it, and most certainly maybe xping it. Best case scenario: Where all the other crafts make thier bank from making awesome gear for players, Alchemist might make big bank making awesome gear fot dolls. At the very least, it was a fun show to watch.

One of the first places I went to was the Temple. Nothing very interesting here except for the center piece, which while ultimately pointless so far, looks really cool.

Salaheen is going to challenge Prishe for the coolest NPC title I feel. From what we've gathered missions are unlocked through gaining mercenary points. We already know that Assault ties heavily to this, and I'm guessing a few quests will as well. Talking to some of the people around town one guy told me I needed to be rank 50 to participate in something - so this expansion is going to make us work I think.
The invitation card quest was finished here, where Salaheen gave me a nice coin that can be used for my mog locker - and I'm sure, other things as well - I'm feeling they're going to be like ancient beastcoins in that regard and that we'll be able to get them through numerous ways. So much to absorb and I haven't even seen close to all of it.

While WiW was rushing around trying to find everything in the city, Vor and I stepped out to see the new zones first. The forests outside are the prettiest ones SE ever made and huge to boot.

Killed this guy first. Mobs there ranged from EP-EM. In addition to these tucans there are pink ochus, weird looking spiders and, my favorite, bee hives that spew out tons of bees. At night in the northern forest Fomors actually pop up as well as haunts - so I wonder what, if any, tie in with promathia this expansion will have.

The most fun mob, however, were Puks.

These guys weren't tough, but are true sight. They have this amazing tp move that knocks party members back VERY far - like, almost cant see your party anymore far.

There's so much stuff out there it's just crazy.

Some of the new underground zones were pretty and had some unusual stuff, like the plants above, and some neon blue lakes (think crawlers nest on acid). None were cooler then Halvung tho.

Halvung clearly is a new Ifrit's Cauldron zone, only it's a hang out for the trolls and pudding. And, oddly enough, crawlers.

These crawlers actually sleep on thier own at night time. Was fortunate enough to zone in just before 6:00 and sure enough, they sprang to life and almost ate me.
We ran into Vimes by chance not long after that and got a little bold. We did discover tho that Puddings LOVE to spam -ga spells.

Can't be sure yet if it linked the troll we were fighting or if it aggro'd our magic - i would bank on the later - but Vimes held out a long time on his own against 3. Was much fun. We escaped out hoping it'd take us out to the forst again... nope.

This is the zone where Cerebrus is, but we couldn't find him or a zone like back to the forest. We did find some cool enemies, the best of which were the green penguins.

They WADDLE! I could have watched em walk all night - they were so cute.

The coast had all dune's like mobs - flys, pugs, crabs - but they're all volacanic colored. Pugs looked really cool too. Forgot to /check em, but I'm guessing the area we were at might be a decent xp spot. We ran around for a bit trying to find a way out, got aggro and a link and decieded to teleport out and take a break during the ferry back over.

We gave the first mission a shot once we got back, heading into Mamook to deliver a package. We got lost tho and I got tired.

The zone was very pretty tho. All sorts of mobs here, from the beastmen to more puks, shagins and pugs, spiders too. Was around 4am when we ran into Vimes again and I called it a night, but was happy to hear they got the mission done.

Not even this could save me.

For a first night, I was really proud of WiW for what they got done. Big and Xano especially for figuring out so much. Hopefully a lot more things will become clearer once were through the weekend. I figure our first real active group night will be spent catching everyone up to the same point and trying out some assaults or missions if we've got time.

It's a brave new world again, and WiW was pretty fearless.

bout 30k in 2 hours. Which sounds great, but left me really torn over where to put the merits.

for no greater reason then the fact that every time i'm at a LS event and i miss a cure going through by a half second. Was really tempted to get two points in katana tho ~ so i compromised and i'm close enough to another merit i'll solo it this week and put one towards that. I think im going to put rdm on hold for a bit once blm is done and just merit whore my free time instead of deal with the leveling grind again. Besides, i got some gear I want to get and it'll give me a chance to save some money.

8 hours and 700xp short of 7 full levels. Grats to everyone else who was a part of it - specially Xano (yay! one less thing for him to complain about :P) Started with shagin outside SSG, to shagin inside SSG, to dhamels in altepa. Gunna toss a chocobo xp scroll at it and solo whatever is left (if anything)tomorrow morning - which means I went from 26-37 on thf in 3 days.

Got the next two days completely off ~ gunna try to get blm to 75. Only bout 10k if i remember right so it should be in the bag ~ then I have no idea what the hell i'm gunna do.

Made a bunch of new userpics this afternoon. Pretty happy with them considaring i've never tried it before and only used a generic photo editor off the comp ~ since i dont have photoshop ~ (please dont kick me out of the geek squad).

I always get a boost when i feel like i've made friends with people who i can't communicate with. This morning's party was a lot of fun, even if we had to camp in a place we were too high for and had no refresher. Only got about 1/4 through 74, but was one of the better times i've had in a pickup party in a long time. I'll get more xp tonight anyway.

Ivy, if you're reading this tell me how to spell 'thank you' and 'good job everyone' or whatever you can think of i might be able to use (like 'nice to meet you' and 'you don't happen to have a pickle do you?') in japanese or ill steal your pillow cases.

It occured to me today that I'd be subbing thf for something soon, which means I need to get around 10 more levels on it. Not so bad, really, except I suddenly realized what rank 2 is gunna look like next to my job. -.-

P.S.: My friends rock. Someone randomly bringing over a copy of Ali G Indahouse DVD they happend to find in the bargin bin made my day.

Still ended up 1.5k closer to 74 then i started. Not bad for my first time out and a wee bit underleveled for it. That death was the only element that gave me any trouble at all ~ and this with a limited spell selection. Can't wait to give this a go at 74/75.
